COACH T
Founder of "We Just Hoop" | Building Players, Building Character
Hailing from Charleston, West Virginia, Coach T is a lifelong student of the game, dedicated to developing young athletes through the sport of basketball. As a USA Basketball-certified coach, he has coached at multiple levels, including school teams and AAU programs, always focusing on skill development, teamwork, and character building.
As the founder of We Just Hoop, Coach T created the organization to provide young athletes with a high-level basketball experience free from the politics of traditional AAU programs. His mission is to help kids reach their basketball goals while also preparing them for success in life.
Raised by a strong single mother and growing up without his father, Coach T understands firsthand the impact of mentorship, discipline, and support. His experiences shaped his deep commitment to giving back to his community, using basketball as a platform to guide, mentor, and mold boys into men. His coaching philosophy emphasizes hard work, accountability, and personal growth, ensuring that every player he works with not only improves on the court but also in life.
Off the court, Coach T is a devoted husband to Shatavia and a proud father of four children, reinforcing the same values of leadership, responsibility, and perseverance at home that he instills in his players.
Through We Just Hoop, Coach T continues to impact lives, helping young athletes reach their potential without the politics, just the game.
